Application Process:
To secure a spot as a commerical student in our course all of the following need to be completed and sent back to Minnesota Commercial Diver Training Center. Please note that due to the amount of time needed to process all forms they must be submitted at least a month before the start of class.

  • Proof of SCUBA Certification
  • Proof of High School graduation or GED (equivalent)
  • Deposit of $1000.00

Commercial students will be notified when their application, etcetera, has arrived at the MCDTC, and will receive official acceptance after their medical exam is granted clearance by our Hyperbaric doctor. If two weeks have passed without notification please contact MCDTC to ask about the status of your application.

Medical Exam:
In order to attend and be trained for certain commercial diver certifications all applicants must be approved by a Hyperbaric doctor. Students don't have to see a Hyperbaric doctor, but they must have all medical exams and forms (provided below for printing) completed by a physician. Submitted results of such will then be given to MCDTC's Hyperbaric doctor for final approval. This is a very important step in the application process that takes the most amount of time, so please don't wait to get this done.

Tuition:
Tuition is $16,000.00 with a $1000.00 deposit. The deposit must be paid at the time of submitting their completed Student Application, Liability/Waiver and all medical forms and test results; the full amount is due no later than the first day of class. The MCDTC holds the right to give an applicant's spot to another applicant if the first applicant applies without paying their deposit.

Private Career School Designation:
Minnesota Commercial Diver Training Center is licensed as a private career school with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to Minnesota Statuses, sections 141.21 to 141.32.  Licensure is not an endorsement of the institution.  Credits earned at the institution may not transfer to all other institutions.

Previous Credit:
The nature of MCDTC's class is very fast paced and is based upon a required number of course hours established by the Association of Diving Contractors and the Diver Certification Board of Canada.  It is not possible for us to allow/grant credit for any previous classes taken at other diving schools. MCDTC must follow the rules and regulations set forth by the ADCI certifying agency when training and certifying commercial diver students. This ensures that all graduates of MCDTC are qualified in all aspects of diving.
